The Parish Council are in process of garnering quotes for a new accessible roundabout for St Buryan play park. Several residents have enquired about when it will be installed, so we’d like to let you know about the process.
We need to gather at least three quotes to replace the roundabout and surrounding area on which it sits, as well as removal of the old mount. We have a duty to make new equipment as accessible and inclusive as possible, so we are looking to replace the old roundabout with an accessible one.
Once we have our quotes, we will need to consider the options at our next Full Council Meeting in September 2025. We will try to get some match funding to help pay for the roundabout and will book the installation as soon as possible.
This all takes several weeks as we work within our Financial Regulations to ensure value for money for the public funds we will be spending.
Here are some examples of other accessible roundabouts (though not necessarily the ones we can choose from).
