Parish Council meetings

The Parish Council meets on the third Monday of each month. The August meeting is only held if there are business items that require a Parish Council response.

The meetings are held in St Buryan Village Hall with every third meeting held at Lamorna Village Hall.

Parish Council meetings are held in public. Members of the public are welcome to attend. Early in each meeting there is time for residents to speak for up to 3 minutes. At the end of each meeting members of the public may be excluded if there are confidential matters to be discussed by the Council.

Individual Parish Councillors may sometimes declare an interest in a matter being discussed at the meeting. If so, they will declare that interest and step out of the meeting for that item. An example of this might be a direct financial interest.

Each year the Parish Council hosts the Annual Parish Meeting of Electors when the Parish Council Chair delivers the annual report and other Parish organisations and community groups can update residents on their activities. Local residents can attend and speak on issues relevant to the Parish.

The Chair and Vice-Chair of the Council are elected each year at the Annual Council Meeting.

The meetings of the Parish Council start at 7.30 pm. Note, from 19 October 2026, meetings will start at 7.15pm.
